I love to ride on those "Thrill" rides that seem like they can move your insides all around. Some of the rides I have gone on are really crazy. The funny thing about these rides is that I always want to go again. These rides are nothing compared to the trip I will take some time in the future. Paul writes to the Thessalonian believers in 1 Thess. 4: 15- 18 that JESUS is coming back for HIS church, of which I am a member, and take them to be with HIM. Whether my trip begins in the grave or while I am alive makes no difference. When the trumpet sounds, I will hear it and I will be going. I can not imagine how exciting that will be. Understand this, whatever this world has to offer is not enough because we were made for eternity and only as we are with our Heavenly FATHER and HIS SON will we be truly fulfilled. I do believe any of want to die but as a child of GOD i do not fear it. In A.D. 125 Aristides tried to tella friend of his why Christianity was so successful. He said that " if any righteous man among the Christians passes from this world, the believers rejoice and offer thanks to GOD, and they escort his or her body with songs of Thanksgiving as if he or she were setting out from one place to another." Guess what! We are going to another place and and it will be great!!! I hope you are a part of GOD's family through faith in JESUS CHRIST and have the assurance your big trip will happen in the future. Acts 16:31 says very simply " Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and thou shalt be saved..."

The song says it all. "There's a land that is fairer than day, and by faith we can see it afar." I know that sometimes Heaven seems a long way off but it is really closer than we think. I read about a lady named Florence Chadwick. Maybe you heard about her. She swam the English Channel and was attempting to swim from Catalina Island to the coast of California, roughly 20 miles or so. When Florence started out from Catalina the air was cold and it was very foggy. This fog never lifted, and after a valiant try she was forced to give up. Turns out she was only 1/2 mile from the shore. She said that if she had seen the shore she could have made it. My friend, as believers we must look at Heaven as the shoreline. If we navigate our way through the dense fog of this earth, we will see our heavenly home and be energized. How energized do we need to be to grasp the truth of Revelation 21: 3 - 4 which tell us "... Behold, the tabernacle of GOD is with men, and HE will dwell with them, and they shall be HIS people, and GOD himself shall be with them, and be their GOD. And GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and shall be no death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain;..." Hang in there if these days seem very troublesome to you, regardless of what you are going through. The promise of Heaven, and GOD's presence forever should be enough to light the fire of hope within you.Cecil Rhodes said, " so little done, so much to do; we shall continue in Heaven." What a blessing is in store for we who know JESUS CHRIST! Praise GOD!

We were blessed by the ministry of our Youth Choir in the Sunday morning worship service (November 16). We have some photos of them in our photo gallery for you to see. (We also got a picture of our great Praise Team, and of the drama team presenting their very effective piece during that same service).

Have you ever wondered what your home in heaven will be like? JESUS told us in John 14:3 that " if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself." JESUS told us in HIS FATHER's house were many mansions( dwelling places). The fact that my LORD is making a place for me indicates it will be a home for me to use. So many people think that eternity in heaven may be dull just worshipping GOD, but beyond the excitemnt of doing that, we will have other things to do, so we will need a place to retreat to. I try to imagine what my home will look like. I doubt it will be decorated like my present home, but I will have eternity to make it to my liking. I am so glad I will not have to worry about a mortgage. The place will have been paid for when I arrive because of what my SAVIOR did for me. I often wonder how often I will go there. There is no night in Heaven so I will not need it for sleep. I will not have to worry about heating the place. JESUS CHRIST loved you so much that HE died for you and has a special place for those who are HIS! I pray you are excited about your future home being prepared for you right now! If you do not know if Heaven is in your future, you can be assured it is by believing in JESUS CHRIST as your SAVIOR. Use your imagination to picture your Heavenly home that awaits you. It is an exciting thought!

Have you ever imagined what it will be like that first day in heaven if you go there because of your relationship with JESUS CHRIST? John tells us in Revelation 20: 11 -14 that there will be a day when all are judged before GOD. The "Books" will be opened and those not who not have their name in the Book of Life will be cast forever away from GOD"s presence into the Lake of Fire. It is my prayer you know CHRIST in a personal way. I want those of you who know CHRIST to think with me for a moment about what that first day may be like. I imagine my Savior will greet me and want to take me to the FATHER. As I walk with my Savior I may feel uncomfortable seeing me, but always getting reassured that I am with JESUS so it is okay. My first glimpse of that Heavenly city will be so awesome, and yet when I see it I will feel so unworthy to be in such a place, yet reassuringly led by my SAVIOR. I can imagine my first experience being led into the FATHER's presence. I will down on the ground in worship, yet trembling to be in such a place. I can imagine the FATHER thaning the SON for bringing me. Maybe he will say, " Thankyou SON for bringing George here. " HE may say, " I have looked at George's life" and at this point I will be shaking because I knoe who I am and what I did. Then GOD may say, " because George trusted in YOU, your Blood has cleansed him completely. I see George as if he never sinned at all." Then I hear those words I want more than all, "Welcome. George, into the joy of your LORD." As I was writing this I am filled with chills just at that thought! FellowChristian, are you waiting to hear those words? May GOD excite you at the very thought of all this.
