Pastor Richard C. Klueg

Switched at Birth Death

2 Corinthians 5:20-21

Story plot & real life examples!

"A Tale of Two Cities"

The Spokesmen

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us

As ambassadors for Christ, we are to speak:

  • With authority

  • With responsibility

  • With passion

The Summons

be reconciled to God

  • A gap to be closed

  • A peace to be secured

The Switch

he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The sinless One takes our sin - Isaiah 53:4-6

The sinners take on Jesus

The switch is not automatic: be reconciled to God!

Grace: God's Riches AChrist's Expense

Pastor Richard C. Klueg

Irreconcilable Differences?

2 Corinthians 5:18-19

How do you reconcile the irreconcilable?

The Sovereign: Salvation Is from God

All this is from God  -  God was … reconciling the world to himself

The significant difference between Christianity and all others

Philippians 3:4-8; Jonah 3:9; John 14:6

The Savior: Salvation Is by Christ

… through Christ reconciled us to himself  -  in Christ

“Reconcile”

Not counting their trespasses

Psalm 130:3

The Servants: Salvation Is Through Us

And gave us the ministry of reconciliation  -  entrusting to us the message

For an individual to be reconciled, a few things have to happen

A great privilege and a great responsibility

Pastor Richard C Klueg

2 Corinthians 5:16-17

Makeovers for buildings and bodies!

Checking the Interior

Judging according to the flesh - natural, but misleading

From now on we regard no one ...

Changing the Perspective

Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer

His previous low regard for Christ

His present high regard for Christ

Creating the New Man

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation

The old has passed away

The new has come

Extreme Makeover: You!

Sermon outline for Sunday, May 10, 2015
Pastor Richard C. Klueg

What Makes You Tick?

Your source of motivation, guidance, and strength

Gripped: Loved by Jesus Christ

For the love of Christ controls us

What does it mean that Christ loves me?

How does this compel me?

Grounded: Leaning on Jesus Christ

Because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died

The ransom paid

My “death” with Christ

Growing: Living for Jesus Christ

He died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised

Jesus is Lord

Living for myself:

  • My plans
  • My pleasures
  • My power

Living for Jesus:

  • His plan
  • His pleasure
  • His power

My life I give, henceforth to live, O Christ for Thee alone!”
