Doctrine and Mission Statements
We Believe:
- In One God, creator of all things, who exists in the three Persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- In the divine inspiration of the Bible as the revealed will and word of God, inerrant in its original manuscripts, and as the only rule of faith and practice for the Christian.
- In atonement for sin through Jesus Christ, who being God, became man, born of the virgin Mary; was perfect in all respects; was crucified, buried, raised to life, and is now seated at the right hand of God and making intercession for us; and is coming again.
- In the Holy spirit as a divine person; equal with God the Father and God the Son, and of the same nature. We further believe that He now is the agent in the New Birth; that He also seals, indwells, endows, guides, teaches, comforts, intercedes for, and sanctifies the believer.
- Every human (except Christ) is born a sinner by nature, estranged from God and incapable of self-restoration. Forgiveness and renewal come only by the grace of God, as God’s Holy Spirit gives new birth based on Christ’s finished work on the cross. A saved sinner is justified immediately upon faith alone in Christ, is sanctified progressively through the continuing work of the Holy Spirit and will be glorified fully upon seeing Christ in the afterlife.
- There are two biblical ordinances of the local church: Baptism of believers by immersion in water as a public demonstration and witness of our being dead, buried and resurrected with Christ and not as a means or prerequisite for salvation; and the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper as a memorial of the Lord’s saving death for believers.
- In the resurrection of the dead in Christ at the coming again of our Lord, in the everlasting life of the saved in heaven, in the everlasting suffering of the wicked and impenitent in hell.
- That a local church is a family of believers in Jesus as the Son of God, who have given themselves to Him in obedience and love.
